LiFePO4 Cell Technology
Duracell’s solar batteries are based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4/LFP) technology making them safer and longer lasting than traditional lithium ion batteries.
Long Battery Life
The Dura5 battery is ragged for 8,000 charge and discharge cycles, 25% higher than what many other leading solar batteries advertise. At one full charge and discharge cycle a day that gives it a potential lifespan of more than 20 years. Even at more intense levels of use it could still last homeowners a decade or more before needing replacement.
Robust Fire Safety
Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), which has come to dominate modern solar battery construction, provides excellent safety compared with older technologies as it poses little to no risk of fire from knocks or electrical shorts.
Smart Controls & Savings
The Duracell Energy Smart App allows users to set their own operating parameters to get the greatest usage form their solar energy and maximise savings.
From a single platform, users can control Duracell batteries, inverters, and EV chargers to set time of use controls on charging and discharging to take advantage of cheap electricity tariffs or maximise green energy usage.
The app provides a system overview of energy generation and consumption to better understand electricity usage patterns.
Large Scaling Capacity
Both Dura5 and Duracell 5+ solar batteries have been designed for simple to execute and high capacity scaling.
The wall-mounted Duracell 5+ can operated up to five modules in parallel, giving it a maximum capacity of 25kW. This is more than enough for any residential system and can provide a significant boost for many small businesses.
Scalability is one area where the Dura5 surpasses its larger cousin. It can operate a maximum of 32 units in parallel, combining two stacks of 16 battery modules.
This gives it a potential capacity of anywhere from 5kW – 160kW. This level of flexibility is perfect for both homeowners and commercial customers of any size.

The Duracell Energy Smart APP allows users to easily control their battery module from any location. The app integrates options for time of use tariffs, solar PV charging, and EV charging to maximise users’ savings.
